About the Event

Thursday, June 19 - Happy Juneteenth!  |  6:30pm - 7:30pm  |  Community Series    |  Pay What You Wish |    Virtual

Commemorate Juneteenth and Pride Month by learning about the role intersectionality plays in the American Feminist Movement! Join local history teacher, Anna Newberg, as she walks you through the American Feminist Movement from the American Revolution to present day. This talk will probably include information that was missed in your school history classes! Her goal is to provide context to both past and present debates surrounding feminism and intersectionality, especially among folks of color. She hopes to not only highlight the accomplishments of American feminists but also the complex changes addressed by each of the four waves. Bring your questions and join us on a journey through American History!
